Chasing the Butterfly Man to Pointe Coupee House & Garden Tour

Pat and Jack Holden will welcome you to Maison Chenal and the LaCour House. The couple is being honored at theLouisiana Museum Foundation’s (LMF) Founders Ball, “Chasing the Butterfly Man: The Search for a Lost New Orleans Cabinetmaker, 1810-1825, for their life’s work of conserving and collecting Louisiana’s material cultural heritage. Within the Holden Collection, you will have the opportunity to preview a key to the Butterfly Man armoire that will be featured in the exhibition in the Cabildo in November.
After our tour of the Holden’s Collection, we will have lunch with a picturesque view overlooking the False River at Morel’s Restaurant. Lunch is included in ticket price – Entree, dessert & soft drink or tea.
After purchasing your ticket (s) please call the LMF office at (504) 558-0493 or email us at info@thelmf.org, to let us know your lunch option by 4:00 p.m. Thursday September 12th. If we do not hear from you, we will have to choose an option for you. so that the restaurant can be prepared for our arrival.
Following lunch we will have an opportunity to tour the gardens at LeJeune House. This early 19th century plantation home’s notable garden features the Francois Samson Oak, on the National Historic Register.
The final stop on the tour is the Pointe Coupee Museum, an architecturally significant and rare example of Creole log cabin construction.
